Study Hall Guidelines and Expectations
As the name implies, this is a time of study and work, not socializing. In order to ensure our classroom stays an environment conducive for studying, the following rules apply:
1. All students must be in their assigned seats and working quietly. You must sign out to leave study hall.
2. Students must come to study hall prepared. Have all the books, notebooks, writing utensils you will need. You will not be allowed to go back to your locker.
3. Use this time to complete projects, homework, classwork, study for tests and quizzes, etc.
4. If you have no projects, homework and tests or quizzes to study for, then you may read silently.
5. Drawing, talking, and socializing are not appropriate choices for study hall. Drawing is acceptable if it is an assignment for art or another class.
6. Students may sign out to go see another teacher. However, only one student per teacher will be allowed out of the classroom. If someone has signed out to see a teacher you want to see, you will need to wait until that person returns.
7. Students will not be allowed to work in the library, and only one person at a time may be signed out to check out/return books.
8. Since study hall is a time for academics, students will not be permitted to use the computer lab to play games, etc. Students must have teacher permission to use the computer lab.
9. No electronic equipment, such as Ipods or handheld games will be allowed in study hall. However, with your teacher’s permission, you may use electronic devices for research or other academic needs.
10. Only one person at a time will be permitted to use the restroom. They must sign out.
